Julius L. Sohn, 84, of Spring Valley, a retired Town of Newton farmer, died at his home Saturday evening after an illness of two months. He was born in the Town of Centerville Dec. 25, 1880, a son of the late Philip and Wilhelmina Sohn. He received his education in the district school and was married to Ida Bebermeier of the Town of Newton on Jan. 11, 1904. The couple operated a farm in the Town of Newton until their retirement in 1947, when they moved to Spring Valley. He was a member of St. James United Church of Christ at Spring Valley. The couple observed their 60th wedding anniversary in January of 1964.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Roy and Adrian, both of Spring Valley, and Lincoln of Kiel; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two daughters preceded him in death.
