Lois Jean Abbott, 76, passed away due to a heart attack on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at her home in Buffalo.

Lois was born in Lewistown, March 16, 1936, to Henry and Esther (Cromer) Flugge. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1955 and furthered her education at St. Joseph's Hospital in nurse's training.

Lois was a nurse and caregiver for her grandparents and parents. She was proud to be a born and raised "Montana girl" and loved living in the beautiful shadow of the "Twin Sisters" of Buffalo, where her grandparents homesteaded in 1910. Lois married Harry Abbott. They had three sons together and were later divorced.

Following her nursing and caregiving career, Lois became a cook at Eddie's Corner and the Hobson Senior Center. She adored cooking and the first thing you could count on her saying upon seeing her, was "Are you hungry?"

Lois enjoyed an array of hobbies. She loved working on her family tree and sorting family photos. She also collected salt and pepper shakers, dolls, and pens from around the world.

Lois is survived by her sons, Stuart Abbott of Shelby, Montana, Gene Abbott of North Dakota, and Jay Abbott of Duvall, Washington; grandchildren, Gary, Alex, Abigale, Shannon, Nathan, and Morgan Abbott; and siblings, Marie Jones; all of Lewistown, John Flugge of Buffalo, Lilla (Lorin) Flesjer of Glendive, and Linda (Ron) Grimsrud of Colstrip.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Esther Flugge; grandparents, Frank and Lilly Cromer, and sister-in-law, Alice Flugge.

Memorial donations can be made to the Central Montana Medical Center Emergency Room, Hospice House, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012, 2 p.m. at the Creel Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Central Montana Memorial Gardens.
