Frances Elizabeth Tarr was born in 1846, and was the only daughter of John T. Tarr and Deborah Griselda Boyd. On the 20th of August 1863, she married Charles Towson. The couple had ten children, five of which who are known to have survived to adulthood: Charles W., Mary "Maude", Frances Elizabeth, Edward C., Sarah Ellen, Henry "Harry", Thomas Walton, George Henry, and May Emma. In 1900 she was living in Pennsylvania, but at the time of her death in 1911 at the age of 65, she had been living in Sparrow's Point for 8 years.
