LAFAYETTE -- Mr. James Gregory Bassett, 23, of LaFayette died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 18 at 4 p.m. (EST) at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Robert Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the LaFayette City Cemetery.
Mr. Bassett is survived by his son, Gregory Reese Bassett of LaFayette; his mother, Susan Marie Bassett of LaFayette; his father, James Ray Bassett of LaFayette; his sister, Lisa Marie Bassett of Arlington, Texas; two brothers, David Denson (Penny) Bassett and James Keith Bassett, both of LaFayette; three nieces, Amanda Rhae Bassett, Sarah Daniel Bassett and Emily Gayle Bassett, all of Arlington; and two nephews, William Brian Bassett and Christian Alexander Bassett, both of Arlington.
Born June 2, 1979 in LaFayette, Mr. Bassett was an exceptional artist who enjoyed drawing and composing poetry. He was also a gifted musician who loved to play the guitar and the drums. He was a member of Jackson Heights Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 17 from 6 until 8 p.m. (EST) at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
