MRS. CAVENDER
CHILDERSBURG, Ala. -- Mrs. Billie Joyce Cavender, 66, of Childersburg died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at Curtis & Sons Funeral Chapel in Childersburg, Ala., with the Revs. Albert Pike and Jackie Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette City Cemetery.
Mrs. Cavender is survived by her daughter, Haley C. Smith of Childersburg; her brother, Sammy Simpson of Opelika, Ala.; and her grandson, John L. Baird of Childersburg.
Born Sept. 28, 1935 in LaFayette, Mrs. Cavender was retired from the Talladega County Sheriff's Department as a dispatcher. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Childersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 4 at Curtis & Sons Funeral Home in Childersburg.
