COL. J. C. HILL
The funeral of Col. J. C. Hill took place Saturday from his late home, 1809 North Central avenue. The services at the house were conducted by Rev. John P. Campbell, pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church, after which the remains were taken in charge by the Grand Army of the Republic and buried with soldier's honors. The hearse was escorted from the entrance of Louden Park to the lot by a number of members of the Grand Army of the Republic, who assembled
at the entrance previous to the arrival of the funeral party. City Councilman N. M. Rittenhouse and John G. Taylor, of the Department of Maryland, Grand Army of the Republic; Hugh A. Maughlin and Marion A. Brian, of Wilson Post No. 1; John R. King, of Loyal Legion; Clinton G. Birch and Charles L. Marburg, of Cameron, of the United States customs inspectors, were the active pallbearers.
