William Redington was the son of early Waterville settler Asa Redington and Mary Getchell. His father built for him the house at 62 Silver St in Waterville which is now the home of the Waterville Historical Society.

He owned a grist mill which he opened with his father and brother Samuel.

He had 2 children with his second wife Harriet N Pearson. They were Sophia P and William Pearson Redington. Sophia never married and lived in the family home all her life. Her brother moved to San Francisco as a young man and was succegsful in the pharmfceutical business there. Some records indicate he is buried at Pine Grove Cemetery but I have been unable to locate his grave.
