Kermit was raised as a boy in the Staver Church area of Green County, Wis. He married Hilda Elsbeth Stauffacher on Feb. 14, 1929. Hilda passed away in November, 1981.
Together they farmed in the Staver area and in 1942 they moved to Orangeville where they continued to farm. Following his retirement Kermit worked at W.T. Rawleigh in Freeport and Oscar Mayer in Orangeville for a number of years. Kermit and Hilda enjoyed traveling, and spending time at their cabin on Lake Koshkonong near Edgerton, Wis. He also enjoyed restoring antique furniture. Kermit was a life long member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons Keith (Gladys) Wolf of Orangeville and Howard (Anita) Wolf of Freeport; six grandchildren, Doreen (Patrick) O'Brien of Oregon, Donna (Doug) Lamb of Colona, Thomas Wolf of Orangeville, Delores (Russ) Robb of New Windsor, Tyson (Michelle) Wolf of Pearl City, and Dionis (Robert) Fleischer of Freeport; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three step great grandchildren; two sisters, Prudence Gruenburg of Beloit, Wis. and Lovedy (Charles) Love of Mesa, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, Russell and Quinton; one brother in-law, Gary Gruenberg; and one sister in-law, Mabel Wolf.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at 11a.m. at Orangeville United Methodist Church in Orangeville. The Rev. Bruce James will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, from 9 a.m. to the time of service at the church.
A burial service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
A memorial has been established in his name.
