Washington J. Litton son of Burton and Eliazbeth Workman Litton was born July 16, 1823 in Illinois. (James B states in the 1900 census that his parents were born in West Virginia, in 1910 he has them born in Kentucky.)
He married #1 Martha Allison Aug 24, 1844, Jacksonville, Morgan County Illinois. Nine children:

1860 census, Round Prairie TWP, Jefferson county Iowa he is again listed with Martha and children.
1880 census Martha and children are living in Ness county Kansas and she states she is a widow.

Per "Stateline Democrat", Thursday 9 November 1899 p.5 col 2, Washington Lytton died 5 Nov, 1899 at 12 o'clock at Stockport. He was a member of Glasgow I.O.O.F. Per "Birmingham Enterprise" 9 November 1899 he died of cancer.
