"Friedrich August Wilhelm Habeck passed away on Wednesday, January 16, at nine o'clock in the morning. He was born September 2, 1828, in Tonnebuhr, Germany, and baptized there on the 20th of September, 1828. In March of 1857 he emigrated to America, and settled in Town 10 for two years, then moved here in 1859, and has been a permanent member of this congregation since. In 1861 he married Henriette Groehler by Pastor Rehwald. They were blessed with four children, all living, two of them married. In 1873 he was elected him to the office of trustee, for three years.
