I don't really know to much about him except what I was told by my father, which also got it second handed, my father was born in 1917, so Great Grandpa died a year before he was born, I did however hear some wonderful stories about John William Davis, He was married to
Sarah Davis ( Moore ) my Great grandma, of which I never got to meet.
Have no ideal when he was born, but I did do some calculation and came up with around 1869, I was told he was drugged to death by a team of young mules, form the things I remember being told to me, he must have been around 47 years old at death.

I now know my Great Grandfather was born in March 1861
and that his parents, my Great Great Grandparents were
from Arkansas. This is from the Census taken in 1900
So he was 55 years old when he was killed by the mules.
