Mary E. Losee, widow of Washington Hill, passed away at her home in this place on Sept. 13th. and the funeral was held at the house on Sept. 16th. with Interment in Gayhead cemetery, the Rev. A. C. Youmans of Freehold officiatlng.
Mrs. Hill was born in Surprise, the Shubal Losee farm being the homestead.
She was In usual health until about two weeks before her death, and although lacking- only one month of being eighty-six years old, was unusually active for a person of her age, attending to home duties, always
ready In church and Red Cross work, knitting many pairs of socks for our soldiers.
She leaves to mourn her loss, one daughter (Miss Lydia Hill) and one son (John) of this place, besides two brothers (David Losee of Albany and Shubal Losee of Surprise).
Her loss will also be felt by a large circle of friends, who loved her for her sincerity and cheerfulness, her open hospitality and kindly ways in the walks of life. The true wife, fond mother, and slncerest of friends, her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
