Recitation of the Rosary and a Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church for former Tulare resident Joel Patrick Hickman, 47, Bakersfield, who died of gastrointestinal hemorrhage Friday at a Bakersfield hospital. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Bakersfield.

Visitation will begin today at noon at Greenlawn Mortuary Funeral Chapel in Bakersfield.

Hickman was born in Tulare and resided in Kern County for 13 years. He was a cement finisher for 25 years, last employed with Jody Gunt Construction of Ridgecrest.

He was a member of the Cement and Masons Union No. 190.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hickman, Bakersfield; two daughters, Amy Machado, Tulare, and Michelle O'Campo, Bakersfield; one son, Paul O'Campo, Bakersfield; five brothers, Jack Hickman, Antioch, Michael Hickman, Costa Rica, Alan and Thomas Hickman, both of Tulare, and Donnie Hickman, Ridgecrest; four sisters, Carole Kelton, Jean Chamberlain and Joan Hickman, all of Tulare, and Cheryl Price, Sun Valley, Nevada; and six grandchildren.
