Oscar Palmer Brunstad of Elma, passed away on March 23, 2001, after a brief and courageous struggle with illness.

Born Nov. 14, 1921, in Hoquiam, he was the youngest of six children born to Nikolina and Bernt Brunstad.

He will be deeply missed by Hattie, his devoted wife of 59 years; daughter, Joanne Rhodes (Dan); sons, Melvin (Elizabeth), Michael (Mary), and Rocky (Rose Ann); 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Brunstad served in the United States Army during World War II, was a retired employee of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
