Frances J. Hicks, 88, of Champaign died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday (April 14, 2012) at Illini Heritage Rehab and Health Care in Champaign.
She was born Dec. 19, 1923 at Fort Scott, Kansas to James C. and Lucetta Lee King Harrison. She married William Wallace Hicks Jr. on Nov. 29, 1941. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lucetta A. Thompson; her parents, a brother and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary J. Toombs of Marble Hill, Mo.; sons, William W. Hicks III of Riverdale, Ga., Stanley W. Hicks and Richard W. Hicks, both of Urbana; a brother, David S. Harrison of Overland Park, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
