Spanish American War veteran #12685. He served as a Hospital man aboard 11 ships around the world. His enlistment record shows him aboard the USRS Vermont on July 23, 1898, blockading Havana harbor. Between 1898 and 1901 he served on 11 different ships and sailed around the world. He returned to civilian life in May 1901 was part owner with his mother Anna, of the drug store in Axtell, Kansas, he was a registered pharmacist in Kansas. He moved with his family to Morenci, Arizona where he was a druggist for the Copper company. He died of heart failure in 1940.
