Mary A. Horan, 78, died Sunday, April 15 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born August 24, 1933 in Iowa City, daughter of Frank and Agnes Hurley McCusker. She married Richard Ede and they were later divorced. She married John Horan on February 3, 1999 in Prairie du Chien, WI.

Mary was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John "Jack" of Waterloo; four sons, Jim (Sandy) Ede and John Ede both of Waterloo, Joseph Ede of Minneapolis, MN and Tom (Hillary) Ede of Harper's Ferry; two daughters, Sue (Tim) Regenold of Tomball, TX and Lynne (Mitch) Campbell of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob (Beverly) McCusker of Waterloo and Bill (Norma) McCusker of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Elaine Babcock of Cedar Falls.; a step-son, Joseph (Patty) Horan of Carlisle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Babcock.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where there will be a Legion of Mary rosary at 4 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services.
