US AIR FORCE - WORLD WAR II

BREWER - Clifford Morgan Franks, 95, died July 15, 2005, at a Bangor health-care facility. He was born Feb. 6, 1910, in Brewer, the son of Ira C. and Grace L. (Morgan) Franks.

Clifford served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Mary to Prince Edward Island for two weeks every summer for more than 50 years. Clifford enjoyed attending band concerts and meeting people while traveling around to church dinners. He was an avid sports fan and supported the New England teams such as the Red Sox, Patriots, and the Celtics.

He is survived by a dear friend, Virginia Watson, of Florida; a sister-in-law, Nathalie Franks of Bangor; special nieces, Terry Corbett of Bangor, Barbara Malone of Saugus, Mass.; a nephew, Richard Franks of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Harper) Franks in 1995; and by a brother, Arthur Franks in 2005.

Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. (Bangor Daily News 7/16/2005)
