Jacob Robert Black, a retired farmer of Allerton, died last Friday morning from a complication of diseases. He was born in Ohio, June 24, 1841, and was approaching his 89th birthday.
The deceased came to Illinois in 1873 and settled on a farm near Allerton. He retired from the farm and moved to Allerton about 20 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia Ann Black; four children, Mrs. W. H. Goodall of Allerton; Mrs. Ida Williams, Muncie, Ind.; Charles Black, Delphi, Ind.; Joe Black of Danville.
Funeral services were held at the Allerton Presbyterian church of which the deceased was a member, on Sunday afternoon, with Rev. J. M. Beane officiating.
Interment was made in the Fairfield cemetery.
