Charles William Hanneman was born March 18, 1882 in rural Lake County. He died July 7, 1933. He married Rosetta Kramer about 1904. They moved to Wentworth about 1914 where he was in the implement business with Byron Farrell. He served as mayor of Wentworth and helped to organize the local fire department. Charlie and Etta were active in social affairs of the community and they loved to dance. It is said that Charlie was noted for calling the "square dance" at the Odd Fellows Hall. Due to his health, in 1928 Charlie sold the family home he had built and his business and moved to California. He later returned to Wentworth to spend his last days among his friends. Etta and the children stayed in California.
They had four children: Irene M, born July 5, 1906 in rural Lake County, Carl H, born Dec 31, 1907 in rural Lake County, Ida M, born May 22, 1909 in rural Lake County, and Berdean, born about 1919 in Wentworth.
Rosetta was born Sep 22, 1886 in Iowa. She died in Los Angeles, California Jan 3, 1956 and is buried in Glen Haven Cemetery
