J.F. Messmer, 73, Pekin Native, Dies This Morning
Joseph Frederick Messmer, 73, of 1121 E. Wilcox, Peoria, died about 9:10 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, Harold Messmer, 1012 E. Wilcox, Peoria.
A self-employed accountant, Mr. Messmer was born Jan. 23, 1883 in Pekin, a son of Joseph and Wilhelmina Hofferbert Messmer.
He was married to Zella M. Whitson, who survives, with three children, Donald F. Messmer, Washington; Harold E. Messmer, Peoria; and Mrs. Betty Lofgren, Louisville, Ky.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren; a brother and a sister, Phillip and Miss Minnie Messmer, both of Pekin.
Preceding him in death were a son, a sister and two brothers.
Friends are invited to call Friday evening at the Noel Funeral home and until time of services, which will be announced.
