Mrs. M. E. Giles, widow of the late Jesse Giles, died at the home of her son, J. Floyd Giles, near Howell,
Thursday morning, aged 81 years. Her final decline, after a period of feeble health, began a week ago. The funeral services were at her home yesterday morning, conducted by Rev, M. M. McFarland, and the body was brought here for Interment in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Giles, before her marriage, was Miss Mary E. Moss. She was a life-long member of the Olivet Baptist church and was noted for her noble Christian character and consistent piety and goodness. Her surviving children are: Mrs. I. J. Gregory, Mrs. Chas. E. Sivley, Mrs. G. R. Cayce, J. Floyd Giles. Thad J. Giles. W. C. Giles, of this county; Manson and Abbott Giles, of Florida, and Mort Giles, of Oklahoma.
