George W. Brown
George W. Brown, 81, of Hingham passed away at a Havre hospital at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, after a long illness due to infirmity. Funeral services were held from the Hingham Methodist Church, with Rev. John W. Kuller, of Chester, officiating, and burial was made in the Union cemetery.
The funeral text was taken from the 27th verse and the 14 chapter of St. John, and the selected hymns "Jesus, Lover of My Soul," "Rock of Ages," and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee," were rendered by the choir composed of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Kimpel, Mrs. H. Wilson, and Joe Simon, with Mrs. Dan Leif accompanying.
The pallbearers, all relatives of the deceased were: Kenneth Schaffer, Lee Smith, Fred Crites, John Chvilicek, LaVerne Connor, and Howard Smith.
The deceased was born at Joliet, Illinois, on December 3, 1858, son of Mrs. And Mrs. Josiah Brown, formerly of Indiana. When a young man, he located on a homestead near Wessington, South Dakota, where he resided until six years ago last September, at which time he came to Hingham and made his home with sister, Mrs. Alice Huestis. Due to infirmity, he was taken last May to the Sacred Heart Hospital at Havre where he remained until his passing last Saturday.
He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Mrs. Alice Huestis of Hingham, and Mrs. Elma Brown of Wessington, South Dakota, and a number of nephews and nieces.
The relatives have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in this hour of bereavement.
