Born in Pittsfield, VT.
Son (one of 12 children) of Elisha Jr. & Ruth (nee Rich), [may be incorrect information and linked parents are wrong] natives of Connecticut who immigrated to Erie County in 1828.
Brother (younger) of Elijah C. (died & buried in Arkansas)
Husband of Frances "Fanny" (nee Grider), married January 15, 1854.
Was age 43, born in Vermont per 1855 NY state census.
2 of the above noted 12 children are still alive in 1884. (Elisha & Thomas)

Per the Amherst Bee newspaper Nov. 1889 - Cheektowaga Chat. "Cheektowaga, Nov. 26, 1889: Mr. E. Adams is seriously ill. His daughter, Mrs. Berger of Buffalo, has been visiting him this week."
Per the Amherst Bee newspaper Dec. 5, 1889 - Cheektowaga Chat: "Cheektowaga, Nov. 30, 1889 - Mr. E. Adams, who had been sick for some time, died last Wednesday, aged 82 years. He leaves a wife, two sons and one daughter to mourn his loss. Funeral was held from the family residence, and burial in the family lot on the gravel road, Saturday."
Farmstead was located on part of lot #25 at the northeast corner near the tollgate where Harlem Rd. & Genesee St. are today. (south property line adjacent to lot #24 of the Bennet's land) The present Harlem Road was named Adams Road at that time.
Per Town of Cheektowaga record of death entry in ledger: age 81, occup. milkman.

Per 1884 History of Erie County: Town Clerk, Supervisor and Justice of the Peace of the Town of Cheektowaga. He was the Postmaster at the 4 Mile Creek Post office 1852-1857 situated NE corner of Harlem Rd. & Genesee St.

Per the 1989 Cheektowaga Sesquicentennial 150th Commemorative Historical Book: He was a shoestore owner, served as School District Trustee, and Commissioner of Roads. He was in charge of building 8 foot plank roads and tollgates. These roads offered fair transportation for the settlers' wagons, serving the town for 40 years. He held the office of Town Supervisor of Cheektowaga for a 1-year term in 1850.

Gravesite Details

Although the place of burial entry is left blank on Town of Cheektowaga death register, very probable that he is buried here, as his wife is. Per the Amherst Bee newspaper obituary states "gravel road", known as Walden Ave.
