Mrs. Clara Savoy, 75, of 402 Day Ave., died last night in a local hospital where she had been a patient two weeks.
She was born in New Brunswick, Can., May 18, 1890, daughter of Baptist and Maude Mayvill Baer.
At Syracuse in 1916 she was married to Irving Stickles who died in 1920. Two years later she was married to William Savoy. He died on March 5, 1944.
Mrs. Savoy, who had lived in Rome since 1946 and previously at Tupper Lake, is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Louis Amo of Taberg, Mrs. Clifford Hemming of Oriskany and Mrs. Charles Michik of Rome; four sons, Kenneth and Theodore E. of Rome, Royal W. of Lee Center and Robert Kermit, of Steuben; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Poirtier and Mrs. Paul (Edna) Lamere of Tupper Lake, Mrs. Teless (Laura) Boutett of Ilion and Mrs. Charles (Roseanna) Madore of Utica; 27 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Rome Daily Sentinel, Thursday Evening, February 10, 1966

Note: Clara's daughter, Ethelyn Clara Hemming, lists in her obituary that her mother's name was Clara Beor. In Clara's 1921 marriage record and her sister Edna's 1924 marriage record, it states her father is John Beor. 1920 census shows Clara's siblings, Thomas Beor and Edna Beor, as living in her household. On her sister's 1918 marriage record, her sister's name is recorded as Alexina Beore. These are all American records, so it is possible that this spelling was their Americanized last name.
