RAATZ, MARGUERITE M. (STRONG); May 12, 2004 of Orion; age 87; born, Marguerite Ruperd on September 13, 1916. Beloved wife of the late DuWaine "Jack" Raatz; dear mother of Lillian H. Sanchez of Lake Orion and Gerald A. Strong of Lake Placid, FL.; grandmother of 16; sister to George Ruperd of Lapeer. Mrs. Raatz was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Hazel Ruperd; her son George A. Strong and daughter Elaine M. Rondo and her brother Howard Ruperd. Mrs. Raatz was a member of the North Perry St. Baptist Church for many years, where she received numerous "Best Teacher Awards". After living in the area most of her life, she later moved to Gagetown, where she and her husband were very active in the VFW. Margueriteloved to sing, play the piano, the organ and guitar. She also liked to knit, Crochet and embroidery. She read the bible daily. In her final years she resided at Bortz- Green Nursing Home in Lake Orion. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the Lake Orion Chapel of the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home . Family will receive friends Friday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Interment Perry Mount Park
