Dorothy M. Cumbers, 103, Green Bay, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, January 9, 2016. She was born January 6, 1913, in Green Bay, to the late Alphonse and Victoria (DeMuyser) DeKeyser. Dorothy graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1931. On January 9, 1934, she married the late Frank Cumbers at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, and stamp collecting, and she was always ready to play cards with friends and family. Spending time at the cabin and sharing holiday times with her family members always brought Dorothy great joy.
Survivors include four children, Kenneth (Yvonne) Cumbers, Carlton "Jack" (Judy) Cumbers, Catherine (Robert) O'Leary, and Mary Cumbers; grandchildren, Christine Jeske, Michael and Mark Cumbers, Christian Cumbers and Tracy Cassidy, Kate, Lisa, and Joseph O'Leary; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her six siblings, Harold, Bernard, Alphonse Jr., Carlton, Thelma, and Marjorie; one son, Joseph; and one grandson, Brian.
Friends may call at Proko - Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 710 N. Baird St., from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Funeral Mass will on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Anthony Cirignani, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will be in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
