DOSS T. SIMPSON
Doss T. Simpson, 76, Starnes Park, died at 1:30 a.m. yesterday at his residence following an illness of several months.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora McCluney Simpson; three daughters, Mrs. J.P. Arnold, Gaddsen, Mrs. Horace Willams, West Green, and Mrs. Ernest Noe, Ft. Myers, Fla.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Phillips, Glencoe, Mrs. Jewel Silvey, Huntsville; a step-son, Marion McCluney, Chicago, Ill; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Mr. Simpson, a native of Rockmart, Ga., had been a resident of Gadsden for 60 years. A member of First Methodist Church, he was a retired foreman of Agricola Furnace and A. and J. Foundry, where he had worked for 46 years.
Funeral services were to be held at 4 p.m. today in Collier-Butler Chapel, with the Rev. A.F. Farmer officiating.
Burial was to be in Forrest Cemetery with Collier-Butler in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were to be Henry Luker, W.W. Fox, A. Wells, Lenford Nabors, Stane Timberman, King Nicholson, Wallace Nabors, Lamar Nabors, Ollie Nabors and Jessie Silvey.
