Epsy Jane was born in 1853, the first child of Henry and Mary R (Hendricks) Garrett. She married 13 May 1877 in Guilford County, NC, John Lindley Sullivan. She had ten children, five of whom survived her. At the time of her death, this cemetery was known as Red Hill Methodist Protestant Church.

MRS. EPSY JANE SULLIVAN DIED YESTERDAY MORNING
Mrs. Epsy Jane Sullivan, aged 64 years, died at her home at 743 West Lee street at 10:30 o'clock yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held at the Holiness church, of which the deceased was a local member, at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. W. R. Cox in charge. Interment will be made at Red Hill cemetery, five miles southwest of the city. Mrs. Sullivan was born in Guilford county. Surviving are her husband, J. L. Sullivan; two sons, H. E. Sullivan of Winston-Salem, and William E. Sullivan of Greensboro; three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Hunt of Rocky Mount; Mrs. John F. Whitley, and Mrs. E. F. Tesh, of Greensboro, who attended her during her illness and were present when the end came.
