Mike attended school in Sidney, Bozeman and Helena. While in high school Mike obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and worked on a grain farm at Poplar during the summers. Upon graduation from Helena Capital High in 1977, he attended college in Bozeman. He went on to work in the oil fields at Culbertson, and various jobs in Billings and Muncie, Ind., and out of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Hall, Local 41, Butte.
On Nov. 5, 1988, Mike married Amber Newton of Muncie. They had one daughter, Mecca Lynn.
He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, flying and spending time with his devoted daughter and other family members.
Survivors include ex-wife and good friend Amber of Billings; daughter Mecca Lynn of Muncie; parents Bob and Anne Jensen of Joliet; brothers Tom of Billings and Pat (Debbie) of Shepherd; sister Roberta Jensen of Laurel; three nephews and two step-nephews. His paternal grandparents, Ray and Marguerite Jensen, and maternal grandparents Tom and Catherine Wetsch, predeceased him.
