Mildred I. Rees, 90, died at 6:05 P.M. Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Paul J. Rees, Jr.

Born November 8, 1922, in York, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mamie (Ness) Johnson.

she was a 1940 graduate of William Penn High School. She retired from Drovers and Mechanics, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of York.

Mrs. Rees is survived by two nieces, Candace Hutton and her husband, Richard of York, and Lola Smith and her husband, Fred of Dillsburg. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Johnson; and four sisters, Oda Fickes, Romaine Feeser, Charlotte Mann, and Donna Godfrey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2013, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, with her Associate Pastor, The Rev. Allison Beaulieau, officiating. Entombment will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 225 E. Market St., York, PA 17403; York Cancer Center, Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Drive, Suite 194, York, PA 17403; or to American Heart Association , 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
