Mrs. Fussell was born on Oct. 28, 1896 on a farm near Bethel in Shelby County. She worked in the offices of Missouri-Pacific Railroad. She was active as a church school teacher, as well as a group leader for many church activities. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Her first husband, Lee Blackledge, died many years ago. In 1972, she married D.L. Fussell, who preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Fussell continued to live in Springfield and entered Heritage Manor in October 1990.
Mrs. Fussell is survived by a step-son, Dr. Jay Fussell, Lincoln; a sister, Mrs. B.A. Dunlop; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.
