Orville P. "Orv" Nystrom, 74, of Eveleth, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, N,D.
He was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Roseau, Minn. to Arvid and Inga (Brenhaug) Nystrom and grew up there where he graduated from the Roseau High School.
Orv was a United States Navy veteran and was the owner/operator of Orv‘s Appliance in Virginia, and was a longtime area resident.
He married Elaine Niemi on Oct. 21, 2011 and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia.
He was previously married to Dianne K. Kroening on Oct. 10, 1964. They were married 30 years.
Orv is survived by his second wife, Elaine of Eveleth; children Tara Kingsley of Richfield, Minn., Twana (David) Green of Grehsham, Ore., Tianna (Greg) Pearson of Dallas, Texas, Trevor (Connie) Nystrom of Anoka, Minn. and Stepchildren Amber Palkovich and Travis Niemi, both of Mountain Iron; eight grandchildren, Adam Green, Bethany Green, Casey Green, Nicholas Nystrom, Ava Pearson, Niah Niemi, Madilyn Roy and Olivia Pearson; one brother, Frank (Lois) Nystrom of Roseau; and two sisters, Eldri (Dennis) Vatnsdal and Esther Lisell, both of Roseau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvid and Inga.
Funeral 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia with Pastor Robert Simensen officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial, with military rites accorded by the Virginia Servicemen‘s Honor Guard, will be in Vermilion Township Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home of Virginia.
