Betty Jean Bowman, 86, of Ironton, passed away Monday April 23, 2012 at Woodland Oaks Nursing Home in Ashland, KY. The Pedro, OH native was born January 26, 1926 the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rose Stamper Ackison. She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Glen Bowman.

Betty attended Rock Hill Schools and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by:
four sisters: Myrtle Besco, Dorothy Rodehaver, Ruby Adams, and Rebecca Morrison.

She is survived by:
three daughters and a son-in-law: Peggy and Chris Hutchison of Huntington, WV, Nancy Bowman of Gahanna, OH, and Judy Bowman of Gahanna, OH;
a grandson: Steve Bowman of Gahanna, OH;
two special caregivers: Sharon Price and Laurie Freeman both of Ironton;
three dogs and three cats that she enjoyed spending time with, Molly, Chase, Georgia, Maggie, Milo, and Sunny

Funeral service at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, OH with Rev. Glen Carmon officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
