Doris Faye Brown, age 81, of Scott, Louisiana passed away on April 24, 2012. She was born December 4, 1930 in Navarro County, Texas to Richard Andrew & Blanch (White) Owen. She grew up in Athens, Texas where she attended schools. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Elmer Brown of Scott, LA; one son, Roger Brown and wife Karen, of Houston, TX; two daughters, Ann Rudd and husband Kenneth of Lake Charles, LA, and Pam Hollier and husband Daniel of Carencro, LA; four grandchildren, Tracie Coker, Chris Theriot, Daniel Rudd and Jennifer Brown; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Jayce and Trenton Brown and Cameron Theriot, numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving friends and relatives. Doris is preceeded in death by her parents Richard & Blanch Owen, sisters, Helen Mills, Bobbie Irvin, Wanda Owen, Martha Ferrell & Barbara Thomas and brother, Eugene Owen. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Lafayette, Louisiana. Internment will take place immediately following. Visitation will be observed Wed. April 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Thurs. April 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Walters Funeral Home in Lafayette.
