"HUDKINS, ABRAM E. - IN MEMORIAM: Born near Philippi, Barbour county, May 17, 1853, died at his home near Vadis, Lewis county, August 19, 1912. Funeral services conducted at Vadis. Married twice. First, Lydia S. Campbell of Mineral, Harrison county, on November 16, 1876....two sons. Second marriage, Mrs. Mary O. Griggs Lovell of Vadis, November 4, 1883....three children, Florise Hudkins of Kansas; Arkie Hudkins of Calif., Mrs. Bernice Jarvis of Weston. Survived by wife and five children, four sisters and one brother... Mrs. Lottie Sheets of Auburn; Mrs. Theodosis Sheets of Gay; Mrs. Electa Bell of Berea; Mrs. Rebecca Campbell of Berea; Mr. Brown Hudkins of Ohio."
