Grayson - Alta D. Adkins, 67, died Saturday, Dec. 16, at her home.
Mrs. Adkins was born April 9, 1933, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Sherman and Sarah Back Hamilton.
She was a United Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Thomas Adkins in 1991 and a son, Tommy Joe Adkins.
Surviving are four daughters, Wanda Burton of Olive Hill, Brenda Waugh and Janie Little, both of Grayson, and Lynn Kitchen of Willard; a son, Greg Adkins of Grayson; a brother, Luke Hamilton of Grayson; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two step-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Tim York, David Boggs and Charles Milam. Burial was in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
