Myrtle M. Allmon was born February 17, 1899 at Surprise, MO the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Julie Hill Ross and departed this life on May 1, 1989 at Birch View Nursing Center in Birch Tree, Mo at the age of 89 years.

She was united in marriage to Rufus N. Allmon on March 16, 1918 in Oregon County, MO and to this union three children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rufus, on April 13, 1980; two sons, Roscoe at age 5; and Dewey in WWII; Also, one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by one son Ray Allmon and wife, of Jefferson City, MO; one brother, Everett Ross of Alton, MO; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Myrtle owned and operated a general mercantile and grocery store in Winona from 1933 to 1968.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 4 at 1 pm in the Duncan Funeral Chapel at Winona with Rev. David Meade officiating. Interment was in Falling Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home of Winona
