Dr. James Clove Jr., a Veteran Utah Educator, died Thursday April 18, in a Salt Lake Hospital following a short illness.
Dr. Clove was superintendent of the Murray city schools for 18 years and was former principal of Payson and Grantsville High Schools. He taught at Provo High School and interrupted his teachings to serve in World War I.
In 1919 he became the principal of Grantsville High School. He was principal of Grantsville for about 3 years. He taught for 2 years in Los Angeles, and then returned to Utah to become superintendent of Murray schools in 1933, a position he held until his retirement in 1951.
Dr. Clove was born Sept 9, 1891, at Provo, a son of James and Mary Elizabeth Ivy Clove. He married Sarah Jane Dec 17, 1919 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
