Margaret Ann ‘Midge' Rothrock Adkins, 69 of New Castle, died Monday in Henry County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
A longtime resident of the New Castle area, Mrs. Adkins was employed by Brooks Foods in Mount Summit. She was born September 20, 1925 in New Castle, a daughter of James and Lily Shoptaw Moran.
She is survived by her husband, Willard; four daughters, Patricia Shelton, Judith Robertson, Jane (Mrs. Carson) Davis, all of New Castle, and Mary Potter of Camp Hill, PA; a son, Robert Lee of Chicago; four stepchildren, Ruby (Mrs. Henry) Miller, Marleana Adkins and Jackie Lynn (Mrs. Dale) Marion, all of New Castle, and Barbara (Mrs. Tom) Neighbors of Dallas, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Butler of Goshen and Viola Smith of Renton, WA; and two brothers, George ‘Pat' Moran of New Castle and Ralph Moran of Selma.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Cook, Berniece Shelby and Grace Smith, five brothers, Paul, Walter, Francis, William and John Moran.
Services are 2pm Thursday at Main-Frame & Hostetler Funeral home with the Rev. Mark Joplin officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
