Lois Laura Hope (Shea) Wright, 95, of Onondaga Hill, near Syracuse, NY, died
Monday, July 16, 2012, at home. She was born Lois Laura Hope Shea on August 31,
1916, in Ottawa, Canada, the daughter of the late Rev. Adam Joseph Shea and
Maude Mary Theodora (Whitney) Shea. She attended Houghton College and was a
member of the former South Presbyterian Church.
Daughters, Nancy (Wright) Tucker of Syracuse, NY, and Janet (Wright) McElwee and
her husband, Timothy McElwee, of Wyomissing, PA, son, Geoffrey Wright of
Syracuse, NY, sister, Ruth (Shea) Willett of Dahlonega, GA, brothers, George
Beverly Shea of Montreat, NC, and Alton James Shea of Houghton, NY, three
grandchildren and many nieces and nephews survived her.
Her husband, Dr. Kenneth W. Wright, MD (June 13, 1912-February 16, 2003), her
father, Rev. Adam Joseph Shea (October 24, 1872-November 28, 1946), her mother,
Maude Mary Theodora (Whitney) Shea (February 27, 1881-September 1, 1971), her
sisters, Grace (Shea) Baker (November 6, 1923-April 11, 1999), Pauline Barbara
(Shea) Lusk (May 14, 1902-1991), Mary Evangeline (Shea) Robinson, (August 18,
1906-March 26, 2007), and her husband, Rev. Harvey Nelson Robinson (January 2,
1903-September 7,1987), and brothers,
Captain John Gerald Whitney Shea (July 4, 1904-May 20, 1994), and his wife,
Phoebe A. (Lusk) Shea (1902-1999), predeceased her. Services were private.
Burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton, Allegheny County, NY.
