Mrs. Anna Louise Hopkins was born February 1, 1931 in Speed, Missouri, to Carl and Ida Williams. She attended Sumner High School.
She was the wife of Rev. Horace Hopkins Jr. To this union were born several children: Rev. Keith Hopkins (Columbia, Missouri), Rev. Dale Hopkins (Boonville, Missouri), Christi Hopkins (Darrell) (Marshall, Missouri), and Kay Hopkins (Slater, Missouri). She was preceded in death by three daughters.
Anna was a very dedicated and a heartfelt person. She worked for many years for the Marshall and Slater Head Start Programs. She went on to become the minister of Saint Paul Freewill Baptist Church in Slater, Missouri. During that time she was associated with the Ministerial Alliance in Slater, Missouri, as well as a part of Slater's City Council. Upon her death she worked at Precious Beginnings Daycare. She was also a member of Heath Creek Baptist Church in Boonville, Missouri. Anna Leaves a great legacy and she will surely be missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ida and Carl Williams; two sisters, Helen Pearson and Mary Wells Price; five brothers, George Williams, Robert Williams, Cecil Williams, Thomas Williams, and Carl G. Williams. She leaves to mourn her passing Earl Williams (Melva), and Randall Williams (Elaine) both of Boonville, Missouri and Frances Warren (Nixa, Missouri); Six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
