Shannon Ahart Strieker died Wednesday, April 4, 2012.
A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on Saturday, April 7 at her home church Trinity Lutheran, in Louisiana.
She was born Feb. 1, 1968 to Jim and Katherine Davis-Ahart.
To reflect her life memories Shannon attended and graduated Louisiana High School in 1986. Shortly after graduation she married Tim Strieker and started a family.
She leaves in love, four beautiful children, Timothy, 21; Justin, 20; Katilyn, 13 and Luke, 12; two grandchildren; a very special friend, Bob Alexander; her parents; a brother, Jim Ahart Jr.; one sister, Heather Stoops, all of Louisiana.
Throughout Shannon's life she brought smiles to many faces. She was a caretaker. She had the biggest heart when it came to helping people.
Some might call her a hero. In early 2000 she and her son witnessed a horrible accident in front of their country home. These young children wrapped their car around a tree. Shannon and her sons called 911 and quickly ran to the car where they pulled those kids to safety all with serious injuries. When the car caught fire, Shannon kicked it into higher gear and ran with her sons and started carrying buckets of water to put the fire out.
That couldn't have been easy, the house and water was a long way from the burning car. All carrying five gallon buckets full of water. They put the fire out and stayed with those kids until help arrived. That's who Shannon was. She'd risk her own life to help another any time.
Shannon was a caring compassionate person and all that knew her would agree.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Pam; her grandpa, John Davis; two grandmothers, Arlene Carley and Nora Shedd and her dear aunt, Theresa who she cared for throughout Theresa's battle with MS.
Memorials and donations may be made to Shannon's children, c/o Trinity Lutheran Church, 3405 W. Georgia St., Louisiana, MO 63353.
