Elizabeth R. (Betty) Mays, 77, of Markleton School Road, Markleton, passed on Jan. 5, 2002 at home. Born July 7, 1924 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, daughter of the late Jesse E. and Bertha (Kreger) Sanner. She was married to the late Blair E. (Mick) Mays, who passed in 2000. Survived by daughter, Deborah Mays of New York, N.Y. She worked as a beauty operator in Pittsburgh until taking over the operation of the parents' farm with her husband. Betty was (and is) known as an incredible cook, hostess, loving friend, mother and wife. Friends received from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood. Rev. Duane Riddle officiating. Interment, Kingwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. There will be no viewing at Betty's request. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, Betty's request is to pass love and kindness along to other people in any form appropriate. She said that everyone gave her their flowers while she was with us. Anyone attending the service will be invited to join Betty's family at her home in Markleton.
