Elsie Irene Peterson
Elsie Irene Peterson, 78, Topeka, died Wednesday, May 11, 1994, at a Topeka hospital.
Mrs. Peterson was a hairdresser. She owned and operated a shop for several years and later worked at Crown Beauty Salon. She also was co-manager of North Topeka Trailer Court.
She was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Blackwell, Okla., the daughter of Ed and Eva Whitmarsh Dutton. She moved to Topeka in 1936. She lived in Orange, Texas, about eight years before she returned to Topeka in 1994.
Mrs. Peterson was a member of Countryside Christian Church.
She was married to Algot O. Peterson on July 12, 1934, in Assaria. He died Dec. 27, 1993.
Survivors include a son, Karlen E. Peterson, Topeka; a daughter, Marlys Denison, Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Peterson will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Countryside Christian Church,
