Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 8 Apr 1858 p3: "MARRIAGES---Parkman, 30th ult., by Rev. Rufus Jones, Rev. Atherton Clark, of Sangerville, to Miss Mary Dow, of Bangor."
Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 11 Jan 1872 p2: "DIED---In South Dover, on the 5th inst., Elder Atherton Clark, formerly of Sangerville, aged 80 years. He was formerly Pastor of the Baptist Churches of Waterboro and Newfield, in York County, subsequently Pastor at Cambridge in Somerset County, and Sangerville, in this County. His complaint was dropsy in the chest. A correspondent of the Portland Press says he became a widower in his 71st year, and when his family learned that he was contemplating another marriage, they objected on account of his advanced age, but he told them that he was as likely to live fifteen years as they were, and adhered to his own judgment by getting married. If he had lived until next April, the fifteen years would have expired."
