Charles W. BLACKFORD, 62, 2326 West Third Street, died Sunday evening after being stricken at his residence.
Mr. Blackford was born 16 September 1916 at Moville, Iowa. He married Mildred J. UTTER 31 May 1941, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He had been a resident of Sioux City for the last 38 years and was employed at American Equipment Co., retiring in 1974. He was an Army veteran of WWII.
Survivors include the widow; 1 son, Earl of Sioux City; 2 daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Sandra) DILLINGER of Sioux City and Mrs. Norman (Beverly) HANGMAN of Newcastle, Neb.; 4 brothers, Alfonso, Marvin, Everett and Jerry, all of Moville; 1 sister, Mrs. John (Melva Jean) STEVENSON of Sioux City; 4 grandchildren and his step-mother, Mrs. Edith BLACKFORD of Moville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The Rev. Keith W. Johnson of Norfolk, Neb. will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Musical selections: "The Old Rugged Cross"
"Beyond the Sunset"
Casket bearers will be John Hintz. Oren "Bud" Jones, Mathew R. Kleinschmidt Jr., Kim Peniska, Daryl Johnson and Al Bradley.
