Mr. Schmale was born in Germany and came to this country when he was 18 years of age. After living in Nebraska, he came to Oregon 25 years ago to Washington County.
Burial was at the Forest View Cemetery.
He is survived by his widow and five children: Dora, Frieda, Sophia, Fred and Harold.
