Samuel Glover Williams was aflicted with a bone disease, now recognized as bone cancer, as a boy. The surgeon successfully removed the diseased bone, but before he
could reset his leg correctly, they terminated the surgery for fear of losing him. This did not deter Glover from his profession as a teacher in a Greene County district, and later from operating a 320 acre farm south of Weableau, Hickory County, Missouri.
