Born October 25, 1924 in Lennyville, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace (Baker) Mehaffey.
She was a retired pottery worker from Homer Laughlin China Company.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mose Adams, and her second husband, Joseph Anderson; three sisters, Helen Staggers, Margaret Witherow, and Martha Williams; and three brothers, Earl, John and Harry Mehaffey.
Mary is survived by a stepson Walter "Babe" (Linda) Gibas of New Cumberland; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Dave) Edgell of East Liverpool; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Luke; three sisters, Sarah Ulbright of New Cumberland, Florence Leek of Middlebourne, and Hilda McMillian of Chester.
Visitation will be today, Monday, April 30, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Nixon Funeral Home in Newell, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Mary's nephew, Pastor John Mehaffey will be officiating. Interment will follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens, Newell, W.Va..
